Forest Explorers Year Round
Our Year Round Forest Explorers Outdoor Program is an outdoor enrichment program for children 4 to 10 years of age. This session will meet TWO day a week on Mondays and Wednesday from September to May in seasonal sessions. We NOW are offering one day a week options but please note priority is given to children attending 2 days a week. Children learn by doing and moving while spending time outside surrounded by nature. All sessions lead by Shelley Bettker, Bachelor of Education, Forest School Practitioner, outdoor play expert and TimberNook certified provider and teacher.
Forest Explorers Fall program Details:
Eligibility: Students must be 4 by November 30, 2025 and children must be able to independently toilet and use an outhouse. Up to 10 years of age.
Cost: $60 a session for a total of 50 or 25 days from Sept to May
2 days Full year is $3000- $400 deposit then 5 equal payments of $520
1 day Full year is $1500- $400 deposit then 5 equal payments of $260
Dates: Mondays ONLY, Wednesday ONLY, and Monday & Wednesdays following Saskatoon Catholic school calendar with extended winter breaks. (Please note priority enrollment is given to children attending 2 days a week.)
Hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Ratio: 6 to 1
Sibling Discount: 20% off the second and third child
Program Highlights:
Limited enrollment, however, applications are accepted year round. Have your child join Forest Explorers for a full day of inspired play in nature! Your child will have the opportunity to build, climb, run, cook, create, and imagine, in a beautiful spot with other children- the perfect day!
- Calendar provided, we follow the elementary Catholic school calendar with extended winter breaks.
- A full handbook is emailed once enrolled.
- We are 100% outdoor nature program and we love to play in all weather. Weather appropriate attire is a requirement of the program.
- A change of clothes, an extra pair of close-toed shoes and towel recommended. Expect kids to come home dirty!
- Children will need a full lunch with several snacks and a full refillable water bottle.
- This is a drop-off program.

Outside play in a setting that has so many options is fabulous. The lack of structure in fabulous and it is so amazing to see the children band together to build items or create a feast. Or engage in solitary play if that’s what they need. There are no rules and that’s what makes it fabulous.

We often struggle to find programming that suits his personality and interests, so it was absolutely wonderful for us to witness him beaming with joy, wanting to return each day and hearing him express how much he loves Timbernook. My 8 year old son really enjoyed the Going Wild Spy camp. He loved building his headquarters. It sounded like there was a lot of choice and variety in activities, which worked out great for him. Would highly recommend. It’s a beautiful place and the drive out of Saskatoon is worth it!

My 5 year old had an amazing week at Castaway Camp! As a city kid who hates being dirty, seeing him happy and dirty at the end of each day melted my heart! At the end of the last day he was so sad he didn’t get to go back after the weekend! Will be signing him up again!!
