Castaways – TimberNook Moose Mountain Region

Castaways

During this week children will have the opportunity to go a quest to survive and thrive after being “shipwrecked” on a deserted island. Opportunities will include constructing shelters, designing treasure maps, participate in survival challenges, and build tools with materials that wash up on shore. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to participate in group games, cook over an open fire, and have hours of nature play out in the wild! This week is the ultimate adventure designed to inspire ingenuity, creativity, planning skills, and teamwork!

Please read the following information carefully prior to registering your child.

This program runs from 9am – 3pm and is for children ages 7-12, but ages may be flexible to accommodate siblings – please send us an email prior to registration to discuss this accommodation.

All of our programs are inclusive; we provide a safe environment for children and families of all abilities, backgrounds, and belief systems.

Children are required to bring their own food/water – families will be notified of any allergies prior to the start of camp.

In the event that we have to close for any reason, you will be offered a 90% refund or 100% credit. Refund/credit is ONLY issued in the event that TimberNook Moose Mountain Region has to cancel the program. If a child has to miss a class for any reason, there will be no credit/refunds.

When deciding if TimberNook Moose Mountain Region is a good fit for your child, please consider the following:

  • We maintain a 6:1 child/adult ratio
  • The role of the adult is to step back and tune in. TimberNook staff maintains visual contact with children but may be out of arm’s reach. Staff allow children the opportunity to build conflict resolution skills, stepping in when safety is a factor.
  • Children must maintain visual contact of a TimberNook staff member at all times, stay within the designated boundaries of our site, and manage their needs (such as eating, drinking fluids, and using the restroom).
  • We understand that children are individuals and sometimes have varying abilities and unique needs. If your child requires additional support, please contact us to make a plan prior to registering.

If you are having difficulty with registration or payment, please try a different browser (chrome is the suggested browser) and clear your cookies/cache.

You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours after registration. Please check your junk/spam folder as they sometimes end up in there. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us so we can resend it!

If this program is full, email us to be added to the waitlist: [email protected]

My 9 year old son has enjoyed every minute of Enchanted and can’t wait to join other programs offered by Timber Nook. His only disappointment is that it has to come to an end.
Every day starts with a song and a greeting, Followed by snack time and a group reading of the days story book. After the story is read they cooperatively re-enact the story and have experiences in the forest as the characters in the book did.
The teachers are patient and kind and let the kids find the best way to express themselves, problem solve & interact with the other children. They encourage the kids to do whatever moves them even if that means getting a little messy. The teachers do all the clean up so that the kid’s creativity is not inhibited by the thought that they have to clean up everything they create. When my son comes home he is alive and excited and can’t wait to share everything he did and experienced. I couldn’t be happier that Timber Nook has moved into our little town and I strongly recommend this program!

My kiddos have done two different programs so far here! They have absolutely loved it!!!! They have come home with every sentence ending it in, it was so much fun! It was so much fun! It was so much fun! Kids really got embrace the outdoors, explore, engage and were able take some time to relax and take it all in as needed. A perfect balance! And the night Glo War event send home to very soapy, happy children! They haven’t stopped talking about their week at camp and their Glo night and can’t wait to do it again!!!! Highly recommend Amber and Donna! Amazing experience, sweet heart leaders all in a great spot!

After this challenging school year, a week of TimberNook was just what my daughter needed! This was the third TimberNook experience for her (including the original location) and each place has offered something a little different, but all with amazing experiences. She was so excited about this camp and couldn’t wait to see what materials would be available each day. She asked if she could spend every week of the summer here!

My kids had such a great time using all the materials to build Forts, lifts, ramps, and other contraptions! They really used their imaginations and created a whole world of their own in that little nook in the woods!
