TimberNook Southern Sydney : Appin

Our founding location for TimberNook Southern Sydney is based on Dharawal Country, amongst the hearty bushland of the 1st Appin scout group. With access via Burke Street, the wonders of this unique and tranquil space are awaiting to excite all of the senses. There are cicadas singing, creeks trickling and trees for climbing as a canvas which invites children into deep and meaningful unstructured play experiences. This diverse and secure environment provides endless possibilities where children can find true connections with self, others and all elements of nature.

Nestled adjacent to the Dharawal National Park and at the beginning of the George's River you will find our local natural playground of wonder. Featuring pristinebushland, extensive native flora, dramatic sandstone gorges, inviting swimming holes, and ancestral rock shelters. The landscape and our site offers tall eucalypts, blankets of green and gold from blossoming wattle and if you are lucky perhaps a snack with the unhurried koala.
