Friends in the Wild - Summer Camp

In my opinion, every child needs to experience this program. It was the quintessential week of summer camp, set in a quiet and private nook of beautiful Edworthy Park; a perfect mix of adult-curated supplies and staged activity areas, but then the kids are let loose to run free, letting their imaginations take the lead. A few common sense rules are discussed and the leaders supervise from a safe distance, providing guidance only when necessary, thereby emphasizing the importance of the children’s creativity, creating feelings of empowerment and autonomy, as well as opportunities for risk management, conflict resolution and decision-making. Each session ends with gathering as a group and focuses of mindfulness and being grateful. Each day was declared “the best day” yet by both of my kids, followed by the question “do we get to go back tomorrow?”! Thank you so much to Devon and all of the wonderful instructors! Amazing staff with amazing qualifications!
