🌿 TimberNook Friends in the Wild: A Nature Play Series for Ages 5–12 🌿
Join us for an unforgettable late-fall adventure at Friends in the Wild, a nature-immersive program designed to spark imagination, creativity, and deep connection through child-led play in the great outdoors.
Each session offers unique play experiences in the woods at Big Maple Lake Park — a beautiful natural space in Hobart featuring open fields, shady woods, and a peaceful creek perfect for exploration and discovery.
At TimberNook, play is the work of the child. Whether balancing on logs, building forts, splashing in the creek, or diving into imaginative storylines, children will be fully engaged in sensory-rich adventures that strengthen their bodies, minds, and social connections.
Our mixed-age environment allows younger children to learn from older peers while giving older children opportunities to model, mentor, and lead. This dynamic setting naturally fosters collaboration, empathy, and flexible thinking—essential life skills nurtured through meaningful play in nature.

Ages: 5–12
Dates: Tuesdays – Nov 4, 18, 25 • Dec 2, 9, 16 *NO class on the 11th
Time: 12:00–3:00 PM
Location: Big Maple Lake Park, 7302 Ainsworth Rd, Hobart, IN 46342
Cost: $150 (with parent/chaperone)

👩👧 A TimberNook Provider certified in CPR and First Aid will be on-site for all sessions.
👶 Babies in arms are welcome to attend for free when accompanying a paying sibling.
🌲 What to Expect
Each session takes place entirely outdoors—rain, shine, or snow (except in cases of severe weather). Children will engage in open-ended nature play, exploring the elements, creating with natural materials, and engaging their senses in a setting that encourages curiosity, confidence, and joy.
🎒 What to Bring & How to Dress
Dress for the weather—we play in all conditions!
✅ Waterproof boots and rain gear for wet days
✅ Warm layers, hats, and gloves for cooler temps
✅ A full change of clothes and a towel (kids will get messy!)
✅ Water bottle and hearty snack
🌧️ Weather Policy
Sessions will run in all weather conditions except for severe weather (such as thunderstorms or extreme cold). Cancellations will be announced by 9:00 a.m. on the day of class.
There are no refunds for missed sessions.

5 STAR CAMP for all ages!!!! My 4.5 yr old daughter attended Barefoot & Buckets camp this week end LOVED it! This camp truly inspires their imaginations, allows kids to learn outdoors through play and working through things in an uninhibited environment. They did a fantastic job getting the kids excited with their creative and unique themes each day and we would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a summer camp experience like no other! My daughter is also T1 Diabetic and they took extremely good care of her all week. This would a huge bonus for us!
