Themes may include Winter Olympics, Treasure Hunting, or various Storybook themes (such as Indiana Jones, Three Little Pigs, or Robin Hood)! Behavior-Related Policies: While kids are learning through play with each other, we understand that certain behaviors need adult action. True Life Connection LLC enacts a behavior policy to keep all kids as safe and happy as possible. At TimberNook Loudoun County, there are two rules we review with the kids before every camp day; 1. Be Kind (to yourself, others, and nature) 2. Always be able to see an adult counselor and for them to be able to see you. If a child demonstrates persistent and seemingly-intentional behavior that puts themselves or others at-risk of harm, it is our staff’s intention to intervene with a natural consequence. Discussions or phone calls with parents will be given on a case-by-case basis to determine an individualized behavior plan.

Our son had a WONDERFUL time with his friends. Each morning before school he asks if he has Timbernook after school. I have even seen his imagination grow in just the short 6 weeks he has been playing with Timbernook. We will be signing him up again in the spring and look forward to any summer camps they may offer!

Our three year old daughter absolutely loved the Tiny Ones program. It gave her an excellent opportunity each week to explore, make connections, and get more familiar with nature. She always came home with a fun story and I feel her confidence has increased. Highly recommend!

My son has had the best time in the Tiny Ones after-school program! He absolutely loves the outdoors and TimberNook has provided him with a safe and fun environment to really explore and have fun with his friends. Hopefully there will be another session available in the Spring!

My 2 boys attended a week of summer camp and absolutely loved it and can’t wait to return next summer. They came home dirty, wet and exhausted and wouldn’t have it any other way. Definitely returning.

My kids had a great time at this camp. They came home happy and tired each day and woke up excited to go the following day.

My son attended the Village Folks Camp in August 2023. While he struggles to connect with others socially, he thrives in the outdoors and in competition! He learned how to collaboratively build and work as a team with other children he just met! He loved the daily activities, challenges and games surrounded by the beautiful outdoors. His favorite parts have included learning how to build, working with wood and tools like a saw and hammer! He feels very grown up for his 9 years old!

I am so glad we found TimberNook! My son has loved Village Folks from the first day and doesn’t want it to end. It has been an amazing fit for my neurodiverse child and this is the first time I’ve dropped off my son somewhere and not had to worry about whether he will make it through the day without incident. The instructors have done an amazing job creating a welcoming and collaborative environment and encouraging imagination and creativity. I’ve really appreciated how they have guided the campers in team building and social skills. I most appreciated the leader calling me the week before camp to talk through any concerns I had about the week and how to set my child up for success at camp. Can’t recommend TimberNook of Loudoun enough!

My son attended Going Wild earlier this summer and it was great. He often plays alone and avoids others. Here he was able to work as a team with other children and interact and solve issues on his own. He did so well that we signed him and his younger brother up for Village folks and they couldn’t wait to go each day! Such a great play, problem solving, and social growing experience.

TimberNook has been an absolute blessing to our family. We were struggling to find summer activities that our son could do and that would also cater to his shy and unique personality. The staff really understands kids of all needs and exercises patience and professionalism. The open learning method and complete outdoor activities allowed my son to be even more comfortable around things outdoors. I can’t say enough about this place, so thankful we found this gem.

My son said that Village folks camp is his favorite summer camp ever, that he wants to absolutely do it again next year. He loves building with wood and has been making trips to Home Depot buying wood and tools all summer…and to have a camp where he could use his creativity and skills, it truly exceeded his expectations! Everyone, coaches and campers are amazing, my son is very happy so I am happy! JS

My kids have loved Timbernook’s Village Folks camp. All three of them have looked forward to the camp all summer, and then each day have been excited about returning, talking about what they will do the next day, how they will build and fortify their forts and how much fun they have had making new friends. The have used their creativity and imagination, used tools and learned to work together as a team for success. My oldest is already talking about how he wants to return and thinks he will be allowed (although he’s aging out). The other two are ready to return next year.

Our daughter had an incredible experience at TimberNook “Going Wild” camp! She could not wait to return each day. We’ve never seen her be so comfortable getting dirty outdoors before. She’s the kid who is afraid of tiny bugs and of making mistakes. She is very physically risk adverse. This week gave her unlimited opportunities to try things she would never ordinarily try and to be outside her comfort zone. After a fun-filled child-led week of outside adventure, our daughter cried on the way home “I’m going to miss it so much. I wish there was one more day of camp this week. Just one more day.” She is signed up for another week in August and is counting down the days. We are so thankful we found TimberNook!

My son attended the Enchanted camp and really enjoyed it. For a whole week – he played outside, used his imagination, made forts, explored a small creek and improved his communication with other kids. He knew the names of instructors at the end of day one and it gave me peace of mind he was enjoying himself … and growing at the same time! It’s easy to give this camp high marks. We look forward to being a repeat customers!
