Common questions:

What do I need to bring?  Parents will receive an email 3-5 days before the program date outlining all the details you need to know.  Note that weather appropriate attire is required as this program is 100% outdoors.

Can I visit your location before signing up?  Our unique outdoor space includes natural woods, a pine tree farm, walking trails, a seasonal creek, climbing ropes, swings, mud kitchen, and a pole barn – everything your child needs to get out and play the TimberNook way. You can preview the site by watching this short video or email [email protected] with any specific questions or to potentially schedule a site tour.

My child is just under or over the listed age range, can he still register?  Younger children must be 5 by December 1st.  Older children should not turn 11 before October 1st of 2024

What happens if it rains or thunderstorms?  We play in the rain!!  We shelter under a nearby roof during thunderstorms and high winds.

I am not sure how my child will do. Can I stay during the program?  All TimberNook programs, except for Tiny Ones Playgroups, are drop off programs. You are welcome to remain in your car, but we are not able to accommodate parents staying on site during the program.

What is a day like?  Watch this 5 minute video.

Is a snack provided? On select program days a snack may be offered.  Parents are encouraged to pack ample snacks, lunch, and water for their child.  Be sure food allergies are listed on your child’s TimberNook website profile.

Are electronics allowed?  No.  Cell phones, tablets, smart watches, etc. need to stay in a child’s backpack.

How many staff are on site?  We have a minimum of a 6:1 child to adult ratio.

Where does my child go to the bathroom?  A primitive camp toilet is available.  You can see an example of the toilet on this 5-minute preview video.

Do you ever go inside?  We are 100% outdoors and have no indoor spaces.  We use an open air pole barn (under the roof) during thunderstorms and high winds.

Is my child a good fit?  We welcome all kids to participate, regardless of developmental, social, or emotional skills.  We do require that children:

(1) Are able to function with a 1:6 adult-to-child ratio and in a setting with up to 24 kids

(2) Are able to stay within the general, unfenced group area in the woods without frequent reminders

(3) Maintain personal safety with adults notably stepped back and NOT within arm’s reach; and

(4) Maintain appropriate behavior that does not endanger the safety of other children (or staff) or compromise the play of other children.

When you register your child for this program, you are verifying that (to your best knowledge) your child is able to be successful with ALL FOUR above points.  If you are unsure if your child is a good match, please call Treeline Enrichment at 863-271-4519.

Where are you located?  701 Sparkman Rd. Plant City, FL 33566

Timbernook is a wonderful experience. As parents, we sometimes want to control our kids play or direct them how to do it. The laid back “Let them explore and play on their own” approach is refreshing. If only adults could be so fascinated with the little things in life again. Hearing the laughter and watching them learn makes it SO worth it. Angela, the instructor is incredible with kids (and parents).
