Little Wild Ones returns! This Elgin County Forest School program is a wild adventure for children that is developed by Occupational Therapists and led by trained professionals. Little Wild Ones is a drop-off nature program for children ages 4-10. Children MUST be 4 years old by the first day of programming to attend. Children will play, explore, build, create and connect in the magical woods. This registration is for a full term of Little Wild Ones every Wednesday afternoon from 1-4pm from April 24th to June 26th. The price is $45 per day for 10 weeks= $450 per child. This program will only have 12 spaces so registration is limited- please email us to be added to the waitlist [email protected]
This Elgin County nature program runs in all weather conditions so children must dress appropriately and bring their own food. This program is a great way to continue learning outside the four walls of a classroom! It is also a great opportunity to complement therapy for children with motor, sensory or other developmental challenges. Our nature program is inclusive; we are a safe place for children and families of all abilities, backgrounds, belief systems, and sexual orientations. When deciding if this program will be a good fit for your child, please take the following into consideration:
- We maintain a 6:1 child/adult ratio where the role of the adult is to step back and tune in. TimberNook staff maintains visual contact with children, but may be out of arm’s reach. Staff allow children the opportunity to build conflict resolution skills, but will step in when required such as when safety is a factor.
- We expect children to maintain visual contact of a TimberNook staff person, stay within the designated (unfenced) boundaries of our site, and manage their own basic needs (such as eating, drinking fluids and using the restroom).
- We understand that children are individuals and sometimes have varying abilities and unique needs. If your child requires additional support, please contact us to make a plan. If the child requires 1:1 support to attend, you must provide the support person as we are unable to meet this level of supervision within the program.
If cost is prohibitive, please contact us to inquire about a payment plan. Due to the small class size, unfortunately we cannot offer subsidy for this particular program. Please get in touch if you or someone you know would like to subsidize a spot for families who cannot attend at full cost.

Refunds are not given for individual children missing days due to illness, poor weather or any other reason.

There is a 15% non-refundable deposit for any program cancellation. Cancellations received at least 4 weeks prior to the start of your program will receive a full refund MINUS the 15% deposit. There will be no refunds for cancellations due to Acts of God (including weather and smoke related cancellations), natural disasters, or epidemics. We recognize that such events are unlikely to occur, but out of our control; when possible, we will attempt to reschedule the program for year-round programming, but NOT for summer programming. If families are unable to make the rescheduled program, there is no other refund or credit option offered.

Outdoor exploration, exciting, age appropriate invitations to play at multiple interest and physical ability entry points, parent challenges to let your child lead and gorgeous winter weather day to get your body moving on! We’ve been attending for a year and a half now and have loved our TimberNook Elgin experience in every season!
